Maya Abdallah, MD, Accepts Offer to Join Faculty of Hem Onc
We are delighted to announce that Maya Abdallah, MD, has accepted an offer to join the faculty of the Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Abdallah will be joining our hematology and hematologic malignancies group, with a specific clinical and research focus on geriatric hematology. She is completing her fellowship here at BU/BMC in the geriatric hematology/oncology fellowship program, and has been doing an outstanding job as one of our current chief fellows.
Prior to coming to BU, Dr. Abdallah completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Massachusetts; she is a graduate of the American University of Beirut and received her MD at the University of Balamand Medical School in Lebanon, where she won numerous awards for academic achievement. She is the recipient of an ASH Abstract Achievement Award, serves as Chair of the American Society of Hematology Trainee Council, and as Vice Chair of the Cancer and Aging Special Interest Group for the American Geriatric Society. We are excited to have her join our section as a faculty member!
