“If you seek a clinically rigorous and diverse experience, then training at Boston Medical Center is truly a hidden gem. This place draws people who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of the underprivileged. I first came here for residency. The experience was eye-opening and invigorating, shaping me into a more thoughtful, compassionate and well-rounded physician. These attributes of my experience drove me to stay at Boston Medical Center for Hematology & Oncology fellowship. Here, I learn how cancer is more than a disease. Each day, I witness the ways in which cancer interplays with sociocultural, language, economic and lifestyle obstacles. This fellowship teaches me innovative approaches to bridge access to cutting-edge cancer diagnostics, treatments, and clinical trials. At Boston Medical Center, there are opportunities in basic science, clinical, and public health research. The smaller size of our program makes for a close-knit and supportive community. Together, we grow into mission-driven hematologists & oncologists. All in all, I am so happy that I joined Boston Medical Center!” Andrew Staron, PGY5 Hematology Oncology Fellow
