Lisa Norton, MD & Katherine Concilio, NP Announced Retirement

Dr. Lisa Norton and Katherine Concilio, NP,  announced their intention to retire by the end of May and June 2021, respectively.

Lisa Norton, MD retired at the end of May after 28 years with the Geriatrics Section.  Dr. Norton has been a strong, steady member of the Geriatrics Section since 1993, just after she finished her residency at Boston City Hospital (Boston City and BMC merged in 1996). Dr. Norton has served on many Boston University committees over the years and was the Director of the Geriatrics Clerkship from 1999 to 2019.  The Section will miss her dedication and commitment toward her patients, trainees and colleagues.

Katherine (Kathy) Concilio will be retiring by the end of June after 19 years with the Geriatrics Section. Kathy joined the Section as a Nurse Case Manager for home care in March 2002. She later transitioned to work as a Nurse Practitioner in our nursing home program in 2006. Over the years, Kathy has selflessly continued to assist in doing home visits, when additional help was needed.  She also has been instrumental to our education team, where she was a preceptor to our medical students, served on the teamness committee and served on the Sections’ Geriatric Grand Rounds planning committee.

We honored their years of service on June 4 with a luncheon with faculty and staff. We have been fortunate to have Dr. Norton and Kathy be a part of the Section and their dedication to caring for patients and teaching our trainees.
