Molly Cohen-Osher, MD, MMedEd, Named January’s Distinguished Faculty of the Month

headshot of Molly Cohen-OsherThe Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Molly Cohen-Osher, MD, MMedEd, assistant dean for medical education for curriculum and instructional design, has been named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for January.  

Cohen-Osher joined BU in 2012 as the associate clerkship director of family medicine and assistant professor of family medicine. She completed a seven-year BA/MD program from Rutgers University /University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her internship in family medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her family medicine residency from the MacNeal Family Medicine Residency Program in Berwyn, Ill., and a master teacher fellowship from the Tufts University Family Medicine Residency Program at Cambridge Health Alliance. She received her Master’s in Medical Education at University of Dundee, Scotland.

She focuses on creating learning experiences that foster active learning, teamwork and the skills to build meaningful therapeutic alliances with patients. She supports faculty in implementing new instructional methods and curriculum.    

Her nominators say, “Dean Cohen-Osher has been the principal architect of the nuts and bolts of the PISCEs curriculum, a major undertaking. She has been working around the clock to ensure that students, faculty and staff are working in a coordinated manner to roll out this new curriculum.

 “Dean Cohen-Osher has fostered an environment of support and growth with strong leadership, work ethic and kindness.”
