Zoe Weinstein, MD, Named February’s Distinguished Faculty of the Month

Headshot of Dr. WeinsteinThe Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Zoe M. Weinstein, MD, MS, is February’s Distinguished Faculty of the Month.

Weinstein received her Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, her MD from University of California, San Francisco and a Master’s in health services research from BU School of Public Health. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Boston Medical Center (BMC).

An assistant professor of medicine/GIM, Weinstein joined the BUSM community in 2014. She has been director of BMC’s interdisciplinary Addiction Consult Service since July 2016. She also serves as associate director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program. Clinically, she works within primary care, the Office-Based Addiction Treatment Clinic, the Addiction Consult Service and is a site medical director of a methadone clinic. She is a co-investigator on multiple NIH-funded studies on engagment in buprenorphine treatment, and the development, dissemination and evaluation of inpatient treatment for opioid use disorder.

Weinstein is a leader in teaching PA/medical students, residents and fellows about substance use and addiction on the Addiction Consult Service as well as all of her other clinical sites. She also provides didactic teaching to internal medicine residents.
