BUSM Student Esther Han Awarded AMA Foundation’s Scholarship

Han worked as a Senior Health Care Analyst at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) in Washington D.C., focusing on promoting culturally and linguistically appropriate health care services, health care quality measurement, and care coordination and patient engagement. Since then, she has continued to work with NCQA and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists on issues of patient safety and quality improvement. Han served as American Medical Student Association Health Policy Committee Co-Chair, organizing various health policy and public health speakers and events in conjunction with organizations at the BU School of Public Health. She also volunteered with the BUSM Partnering in Alzheimer’s Instruction Research Study (PAIRS) program.

This scholarship is presented to 21 fourth-year medical students across the nation. Recipients were nominated by their medical schools and chosen based upon academic achievement and financial need. The AMA Foundation has awarded over $61 million in scholarships to deserving medical students since 1950.
