BUSM Pediatrics Instructor McClain Receives Salve Regina Alumni Award

Mary Rafferty McClain an instructor in BUSM’s department of pediatrics was honored with the Salve Regina University 2010 Nursing Alumni Achievement Award during its recent Fall Festival Weekend.Mary McClain

McClain, program director for the Massachusetts Center for SIDS/Infant and Child Death Bereavement Program, received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Salve Regina and her master’s in community health nursing from Boston University. She is also an instructor in pediatrics at Boston University School of Medicine and has authored, and collaborated on, texts dealing with sudden infant death syndrome and its impact on families and healthcare providers. McClain has also presented papers and represented professional organizations and commissions globally on sudden infant death.
