Cornea and Refractive Surgery

DESCRIPTION:

Offers comprehensive medical and surgical diagnosis treatment of diseases affecting the cornea, conjunctiva, lids, and adjacent structures. This service also provides the full range of refractive surgery including photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and Laser In-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) using the Intralase and VISX S4 Excimer Lasers.

• Measurement of tear physiology
• Measurement of Corneal Sensation
• Measurement of Corneal Thickness (pachymetry)
• Specular Microscopy
• Corneal Topography including Pentacam
• Keratometry and Keratoscopy
• Corneal and External Ocular Photography
• Culture and Antibiotic Sensitivity Studies of Infectious Process
• Histopathologic Evaluation of Tissue Biopsy Specimens

• Repair of Ocular Perforation with Biologic Adhesives
• Contact Lens Fitting for Correction of Refractive Error and for Treatment of Disease
