Boston VA Medical Center Rotation

Our relationship with the Boston VA Medical Center enables fellows to benefit from a diverse patient population. During the first year of the fellowship, fellows spend one-third of their time at the VA, where they divide their time evenly between inpatient and outpatient care. Inpatient responsibilities range from two to six new cases per day. Fellows dedicate most of their outpatient care time at the VA endoscopy center and one day per week at the clinic. During the second and third years of the training schedule, fellows decrease their overall effort at the VA to approximately 5%, most of which is spent in the outpatient clinic.
