Stuart Beard

Laboratory Manager

Stuart started his career working in research labs, first at Dartmouth College and then at the University of Rochester. Following those experiences, he worked in sales selling new and used laboratory equipment to colleges and universities throughout the United States. After working in sales for several years, Stuart is excited to return to the lab to support the education of the next generation of scientists by helping them to “boldly go where no one has gone before”.

He is responsible for validating and refining new laboratory experiences for CityLab and for the day-to-day operation of the lab. He also plays a significant role in developing and implementing the online/virtual learning materials and live streaming technology for the web-based components of CityLab’s curriculum modules.

He received a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an M.B.A. from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

In his free time, Stuart likes to cook, read, and travel.
