From the South
(Please note that due to construction you can no longer turn left from Mass. Ave. onto Albany St. Please see directions below for alternative.)
- Rt. 3 N/93 (expressway) to exit 18, Mass. Ave. (Follow the signs off the exit to Mass Ave. Take a left at the second light and continue along “Mass Ave. Connector”.
- Continue straight through first set of lights onto Melnea Cass Blvd.
- Turn right onto Hampden St. (after hotel and parking garage)
- Turn right onto Albany St.
- Continue about 100 yards to the corner of Northampton St. and Albany St.
- CityLab is located at 801 Albany St. on your left hand site, inside the Gilmore Vines Building
From the North

- Rt. 3 S/93 S (expressway) to exit 18 Massachusetts Ave. Go right at the light.
- Merge onto the Mass Ave. connector
- Continue straight through first set of lights onto Melnea Cass Blvd.
- Turn right onto Hampden St. (after hotel and parking garage)
- Turn right onto Albany St.
- Continue about 100 yards to the corner of Northampton St. and Albany St.
- CityLab is located at 801 Albany St. on your left hand site, inside the Gilmore Vines Building
From the West
- Follow rt. 90 East (Massachusetts Turnpike) to the end
- Take Rt. 3 S/ 93 S (expressway) to exit 18, Massachusetts Ave. Follow directions from the North.
Notes on getting into the building
There is always a guard on duty to let people in. If the door is locked, ring the doorbell and the guard will let you in. In case no one answers the door, there is a phone just outside the front door in a blue box.

Buses:
CityLab is accessible by:
- MBTA bus number 1, 8, 10, 47, 49
- MBTA cross-town (CT) buses CT1 and CT3
Bus #1 travels down Mass. Ave. from Harvard Square, turns right on Albany Street and turns around at Dudley. Get off at the first stop on Albany Street (right in from of our building). Coming from Dudley the bus stops on the other side of the street after turning off Melnea Cass onto Albany St.
Bus #8 travels between Harbor Point/ U-Mass and Kenmore Station. The bus stops on Albany Street directly in front of our building
Bus #10 travels between Copley Square and City Point. The closest to 801 Albany is at the intersection of Massachusetts Ave. and Albany Street.
Bus #47 travels between Central Square and BU Medical Center. You can walk down Albany Street, cross Mass. Ave. and arrive at 801 in one block.
Bus #49 travels between Chinatown and Dudley Square. The closest stop to 801 Albany is at the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Washington St.
CT 1 travels between Central Square and BU Medical Center. The stop closest to 801 Albany is on the corner of Massachusetts Ave. and Harrison Avenue
CT 3 travels between Andrews Station and Longwood Medical Area. The stop closest to 801 Albany is on Harrison Ave near Mass. Ave.
Bus fare is $0.90 one way.
Subway connections to buses:
Green Line:
- B, C, and D trains stop at Hynes Convention Center. This stop connects with #1 and CT 1
- E trains stop at Symphony where you can connect with bus #1 and CT 1
Orange Line:
- Chinatown stop connects with bus #49
- Mass Ave. stop connects with bus #1 and CT 1
- Ruggles stop connects with bus #8, #47, and CT 3
Red Line:
- Central Square stop connects with bus #1 and CT1
- Andrews stop connects with bus #10 and CT3
