For the apple, table, penny trials- confirm if they do it five times (there are five blanks on the form) vs. only once.

Only the first attempt of repetition is scored. However, you want to make sure that the subject actually learns the correct words; otherwise the delayed recall will not accurately measure their ability to hold these words in their mind. If the subject messes up the first trial (i.e., not repeating all three words correctly or repeating an incorrect word), the examiner should say, “Here are those words again, apple, table, penny… now repeat those words back to me”. Do this until the subject correctly learns all 3 words for up to five trials and record the answers each time. If the subject fails to learn it even on the 5th trial, you just move on.
