ECHO

The ECHO Research Group at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine’s Pulmonary Center brings together a diverse community of faculty, researchers, clinicians, fellows, and trainees focused on improving care delivery and outcomes across pulmonary, allergy, sleep, and critical care medicine. We foster a collaborative and intellectually engaging environment where researchers at all career stages develop ideas, build collaborations, and advance their work.

Through mentorship, didactic training, research collaboration, career development, and partnership-building (within ECHO and across departments and institutions), we support the development of clinical and translational research and promote a culture of inquiry, innovation, and shared progress.

Goals

  1. Build a collaborative research community for fellows, other trainees, and faculty pursuing clinical, translational, and health services research.
  2. Support research development and success by providing mentorship, collaboration, teaching sessions, feedback, and opportunities to develop and advance research projects.
  3. Foster career development for researchers at all stages, including helping trainees navigate clinical research training, grant applications, and career decisions; while also supporting faculty in developing independent research programs.
  4. Develop the next generation of physician-scientists and research leaders by providing opportunities to learn, collaborate, mentor others, and build the skills needed for successful academic careers in research.
