Nicole Fazo Northrop Receives Travel Award to 23rd Biennial Meeting of the International Society Neurochemistry-European Society for Neurochemistry in Athens in August/September 2011
Congratulations to Nicole Fazo Northrop, a Ph.D. student in the Program in Biomolecular Pharmacology, on receiving a Travel Award to present her research at the 23rd Biennial Meeting of the International Society for Neurochemistry-European Society for Neuroscience in Athens, Greece, August 28 through September 1, 2011. Nicole’s presentation is on “Serial Exposure to Stress and Methamphetamine Alters the Structure and Function of the Blood Brain Barrier.” Her research examines how the structure and function of the blood-brain barrier is affected by the serial exposure to chronic stress and methamphetamine. Bryan Yamamoto, Ph.D., Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Toledo and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics at Boston University School of Medicine, is Nicole’s advisor.
