On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, the Department of Neurology at the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) hosted the 8th Annual Carlos S. Kase Boston University Neurology Symposium. BUMC Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center team members, including PD Center Medical Director Marie Saint-Hilaire, MD, FRCPC; PD Center Movement Disorder Specialist Katelyn Bird, MD; PD Center Movement Disorder Specialist Stephanie Bissonnette, DO, MPH; and Research Project Manager Michael Stevenson, MS; presented abstracts based on research conducted over the past year. Research included collaborations with doctors and clinicians from other sections and medical students from BUSM. BUSM students Samantha Wu, Jessica Shen, and Allison Spihlman, presented their work with their mentors, pictured here.

Abstracts included “COVID-19 and Parkinson’s disease: Changes in quality of life and functional status during the pandemic,” “Influence of Residency Program Curriculum on Movement Disorder Fellowship Choice,” “Simulation training in Neuropalliative Care,” and “Functional Neurological Disorders: A Retrospective Database.”
