Community Prevention & Maternal Health Faculty

Pablo Buitron de la Vega, MD, MS, is the Program Director for the Preventive Medicine Residency and a primary care provider a longstanding interest in health care education and the impact of patients’ attitudes, health beliefs and social determinants of health (SDOH).

Jonathan Berz, MD, MSc,  is  Associate Program Director of the Preventive Medicine Residency Program and a member of the Academy of Medical Educators at Boston University School of Medicine. 
Julie Mottl-Santiago, DrPH, CNM, is a nurse-midwife with leadership, research and public health experience and interest in workforce development to reduce maternal health inequities, including doulas and midwives
Jennifer Pfau, MD, is Director of Maternal and Child Health in the Department of Family Medicine
Linda Sprague Martinez, PhD, is chair of the Macro Department at the Boston University School of Social Work. She is interested in examining asset-based strategies to tackle health inequities; as such community engaged research (CEnR) approaches like community based participatory research (CBPR) and youth led participatory action research (YPAR) are central to her work.
