New faculty announcement: Jason Lofters, MBBS
We are delighted to announce that Jason Lofters, MBBS, will be joining the faculty of the Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Lofters will focus his clinical work on Sickle Cell Disease and Benign Hematology building on his strong background in patient care, teaching, and desire to continue to support research efforts in these areas.
Dr. Lofters received his MBBS with distinction from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at Englewood Hospital/Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, where he served as Chief Resident and received multiple awards for excellence in teaching and clinical care. He is currently completing his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology here at Boston University/Boston Medical Center, where he has distinguished himself as an exceptional clinician, educator, and colleague.
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Lofters to our section and are confident that his expertise and dedication will strengthen our sickle cell and benign hematology programs.
