“Inside” B.U. Electives
The School of Medicine has a few established affiliations that are considered “inside electives.” Students must be conversant with the language spoken in the host country unless there is a provision for interpreters or the elective is dedicated to language acquisition. See How to Set Up a Fourth-Year GH Elective to add your elective to your fourth-year schedule once you have decided upon the location.
The following countries sponsor BU medical students students for inside electives. Faculty approval for each elective may be different.
- Child Family Health International (any electives sponsored by this organization are eligible)
- Israel (currently not being offered due to conflict in region)
- Lesotho (this elective is based in the Family Medicine Dept at BMC)
Inside Medical Spanish Electives
There are several medical programs that qualify as inside electives because of known faculty connections and successful track records. See full list of approved medical Spanish programs for fourth-year credit.
