“Exploring Spatial Omics with Efficient Machine Learning”
Assistant Professor of Bioinformatics
Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering
Indiana University
Abstract: Emerging spatial omics provides unprecedented challenges and opportunities for bioinformatic research. Dr. Wang will present three recent works in his lab: (1) TrimNN, a bottom-up neural network based approach for identifying cell organization in spatial omics. (2) REGNN, an empowered graph neural networks for heterogeneous tissue architecture analysis in kidney; and (3) BSP, a dimension-agnostic granularity-based spatially variable gene identification approach, and scBSP, a computationally efficient implementation of BSP in spatial omics research.
Host: Dr. Chao Zhang
