Tracy Battaglia Named American Cancer Society Board Chair

Associate Professor of Medicine Tracy Battaglia, MD, has been appointed to a one-year term as Board Chair of the American Cancer Society (ACS) New England Division effective Jan. 1.

In addition to her academic responsibilities at BUSM, Battaglia, is an associate professor Epidemiology at BUSPH, a practicing internist at BMC, and serves as Director of BUMC’s Women’s Health Team.

Currently an American Cancer Society-funded researcher, Battaglia is conducting community-engaged research to improve the health of women at risk for and surviving breast cancer. She has been an active volunteer for the ACS for more than two decades and a volunteer member of the ACS New England Division Board of Directors since 2007. As a member of the Board of Directors, she has held numerous positions, including Chair of the Outcomes Workgroup, chair of the “80% by 2018 Colorectal Cancer Workgroup” and Medical Officer.
