In this session, members of the leadership team of the BMC Metro Boston and Southeast Learning Communities will review the time line and history of the peer recovery movement. They will discuss the many and varied programs and services that are currently provided by these by these two Communities. They will conclude the presentation with a short video on which several parents will tell their stories of mental health and substance use challenges, the stigma they experienced and the power of peer support.

Learning Objectives:
    1. List key events in the development of the peer recovery movement.
    2. Describe the services of the BMC Recovery Learning Communities, as they may relate to our patients.
    3. Discuss some of the challenges faced by parents challenged by mental health and substance use .
