The Program for Integrative Medicine and Health Care Disparities offers several staff wellness initiatives.
Resilience and Mindfulness for Clinicians: In collaboration with the BU Faculty and Staff Assistance Office and the BMC Wellness program, we are offering an 8-week resilience and mindfulness course for clinicians. Its purpose is to enhance health care providers’ satisfaction with their work, improve the care giver – patient relationship, advance the quality of health care, and improve collaborative teamwork. It is adapted from the Mindful Communication curriculum developed and tested by physicians at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Staff Massage: We offer one-hour therapeutic massage with one of our licensed massage therapists to all BU/BMC staff for only $50. Appointments occur on Wednesday and Thursday between 10:00-3:00 pm.
Staff Acupuncture: Beginning in Fall 2013, We will open an acupuncture clinic for staff only. Appointments will be available Monday evenings between 5:00-8:00 pm. Cost is $40/session.
In addition to these services, all of our classes (yoga, tai chi, cooking) are open to BU/BMC faculty and staff.
