Outpatient Clinic Rotation

Throughout the three years, fellows attend one half-day clinic per week, where they independently see patients who are directly referred to them from one of the many physicians from over 110 affiliated institutions. This system is beneficial for the fellow because it allows him or her to participate in the continuity of care for outpatients, which is essential for fostering a good patient-doctor relationship. Moreover, fellows are able to perform endoscopic procedures on their own patients. In their second and third years, fellows may opt to gain further clinical knowledge in hepatology or IBD by participating in the management of patients by some of Boston’s leading specialists who practice at Boston Medical Center.
