Motility and pH Testing

Gastrointestinal Motility and pH Testing

Fellows become competent in interpretation and application of esophageal manometry, ambulatory esophageal pH monitoring, and anorectal manometry.  Studies are obtained using state-of-the-art equipment and interpretive software.  Techniques include high-resolution esophageal impedance manometry, esophageal impedance pH monitoring, BRAVO capsule esophageal pH monitoring, and anorectal manometry. In addition to formal didactic sessions, there is an opportunity to pursue more advanced and individualized training in the performance and interpretation of motility studies through a quarterly elective. This is offered in the second and third year of fellowship.
