Alexander Y. Walley, MD, MSc is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Co-Program Director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship program at Boston University School of Medicine, graduate of the 2003 CRIT Program, and the CARE fellowship, a precursor to the BU AMF program. He is a diplomate in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM). His clinical and research-related work focuses on the integration of primary care and addiction treatment and the medical complications of substance use, specifically HIV and overdose. He is the medical director of the methadone maintenance program at the Boston Public Health Commission and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Opioid Overdose Prevention Pilot Program.
