Research Summary: Emily researches HPV negative oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). In this model of OSCC, an increased association of B-catenin with CBP in the nucleus promotes epigenetic changes that lead to cancer stemness and aggression. Specifically, Emily wants to elucidate how age-related changes to the tumor microenvironment contribute to this transcriptional regulation.
