Dr. Anand Receives PEN Writing Award
We are thrilled to congratulate our colleague, Dr. Pria Anand, on being awarded the prestigious 2026 PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award. The honor was announced on March 31, 2026, at the 62nd Annual PEN America Literary Awards Ceremony at Town Hall in New York City.
This prestigious national award recognizes her debut book, The Mind Electric, for its “literary excellence” and its ability to communicate complex neurological concepts to the public with profound empathy and wit. Out of a highly competitive field, the judges specifically highlighted Dr. Anand’s unique ability to bridge the gap between clinical science and human storytelling.
This honor follows Dr. Anand’s recent A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award, further cementing her reputation as both a world-class educator and a leading voice in scientific literature.
