Doctrinal vs. Experiential

This experiment is a replication and extension of a past study done by Kapogiannis. Participants are presented with a statement regarding religion and/or spirituality and asked to categorize it on a 1-7 scale as “doctrinal” (i.e., something a person learns from teachings such as the bible) or “experiential” (i.e., something a person learns from  their own personal experience). These results will be compared to scans done in the fMRI with the expectation that those with Parkinson’s will have less of a connection to religious concepts, compared to controls.
