Craig Noronha, MD

Craig Noronha, MD started his career with a strong interest in medical education. Initially, he integrated education into his work by teaching trainees in the clinical setting, volunteering to precept resident reports, delivering noon conferences, and interviewing resident applications. These experiences helped refine his educational interest to graduate medical education trainees specifically. He was selected to join the residency program as an Associate Program Director (APD) in 2011. Over the years, he has had many APD-associated roles, including Ambulatory Curriculum Director, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Director, Retreat Director, and Assessment/Feedback Director. While in theory Dr. Noronha is supposed to be the one teaching residents, he believes that the trainees have taught him more than he could ever give back.

In addition to his work with internal medicine residents, Dr. Noronha has developed a strong interest in educator-specific faculty development. He has led national faculty workshops, participated in national faculty development task forces, and served on program planning committees for national meetings. His workshop presentations have led to multiple publications and book chapters. Although he does not consider himself an educational scholar, he considers himself blessed to have worked with some amazing colleagues that have been able to generate impactful scholarship through teamwork and leveraging individual strengths. Dr. Noronha is forever thankful for opportunities that have been presented to him both locally and nationally by the Section of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, and Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine.

Dr. Noronha is a true BU lifer, completing his undergraduate and medical school training at Boston University. He stayed at Boston University to complete his internal medicine residency and chief medical residency at Boston Medical Center.
