Dr. Susan Budnick Announced as Next Program Director for Internal Medicine Residency

Dr. Susan Budnick will serve as the next Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program. Dr. Budnick is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her residency training at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). She subsequently served as Associate Program Director at UHCMC, Associate Director of the Leadership and Medical Education Pathway, and Director of Inpatient Services at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Since 2021 Dr. Budnick has been Program Director at University Hospitals St John’s Medical Center. She is the recipient of multiple teaching awards at CWRU and is a frequent presenter at annual meetings of the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine. She brings to BU a track record of curricular innovation, teaching excellence, and administrative experience in multiple institutions. Her start date is August 1, 2024.

We also want to recognize Craig Noronha for serving as Interim Program Director since July 1, 2023. His steady hand has guided the residency program during this time of transition, and we are immensely grateful for his service. Dr. Noronha will return to his previous role as Associate Program Director once Dr. Budnick starts later this year.
