Eligibility and Application Requirements

Applications for the 2024 CARE Faculty Scholars Program will be accepted through February 2nd, 2024.

Thank you for your interest in the 2024 CARE Faculty Scholars Program. This training equips Scholars with essential skills to develop, implement, and evaluate addiction medicine curricula. All Scholars must be able to attend the entire immersion training from April 28 through May 1, 2024, attend all six ECHO® sessions, and develop an Addiction Medicine Enhancement Project.

CARE Faculty Scholars will be encouraged to recruit up to 3 supporting faculty who will attend the ECHO® sessions and aid the CARE Faculty Scholar in the implementation of their project. Only the Scholar (lead applicant) from each institution is required to submit an application.

Tuition is free for all attendees. The grant supports up to ten $500 scholarships to be used towards travel and accommodations to the four-day immersion training.

Venue

The 2024 immersion training will be held at the Wylie Inn and Conference Center in Beverly, Massachusetts.

CARE Faculty Scholar applicants must:

  • Be residency program and medical school leadership and core faculty responsible for both providing care to patients with addiction and instructing trainees in fields such as internal medicine (including subspecialties), family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, psychiatry, and emergency medicine
  • Complete the brief online CARE Faculty Scholar application. This includes: 1) a CV; 2) a personal statement that includes your motivation for participating in the program and your plans for creating an addiction medicine educational or clinical program; and 3) a letter of nomination from your division chief, department chair, or program director that emphasizes how the institution will facilitate dissemination and sustainability of the addiction medicine enhancement project.
