Public Safety Escorts, Shuttle Services Update
Public Safety will resume providing evening shuttle and walking escort services to employees and students on Monday, Aug. 16.
Campus Public Safety Escorts
At certain times BUMC Public Safety can provide walking escorts on campus and to the Medical Student Residence (MSR), and vehicle escorts to adjacent areas upon request. Please note that this service (particularly wait-times) is dependent on security-based activities, emergencies, and officer availability. Vehicle escorts can only go to closely adjacent locations. Examples of these adjacent locations include: nearby MBTA Stops, such as Broadway, Andrew Square, and the Mass Ave. stations. Public Safety does not drop-off students at their individual residences. Vehicle escorts can be provided after 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
To use this service the student or employee would call the Public Safety Dispatch Desk (617-358-4444), or notify an Officer on post to request an escort. The Dispatch Officer will acknowledge the call and attempt to provide an approximate time for the officer to arrive. If requesting an escort from an Officer on post the Officer will get an approximate arrival time from the Dispatch Center. The approximate time given may be substantially delayed due to security or emergency developments.

BUMC Evening Shuttle Service
Public Safety escorts should not be considered a mode of commuting. It is HIGHLY suggested that students and employees utilize the BU Medical Campus Parking and Transportation Shuttle. This shuttle runs 7 days a week starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 11:30 p.m. (Ending time will be changed to 12:15 a.m. at a later date). The Parking and Transportation Shuttle travels on request to: Parking Facilities; MBTA Stations including Broadway (Red), Ruggles, Back Bay (Orange), and Copley (Green); and Nearby South End neighborhood locations (within one mile).
