Register Now for the 2nd Annual CTSI Translational Research Symposium

The Second Annual Translational Research Symposium, sponsored by the Boston University Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) takes place on Thursday, May 26.

Robert S. Langer Jr., ScD, David H. Koch Institute Professor, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, known for his work at the interface of biotechnology and materials science, will give the keynote address. He will be speaking on “Engineering and Health Care: From the Discovery of the First Angiogenesis Inhibitors to the Development of Controlled Drug Delivery Systems and the Foundation of Tissue Engineering.” Click here to learn about Dr. Langer.

In addition to the keynote address, there are a variety of activities at the symposium including: a poster session with prizes; short talks about translational research challenges and successes at Boston University; opportunities for cross-campus networking; and Information on translational research resources at Boston University

In addition, monetary awards will be presented to exceptional scientific posters with a trainee as the first author. The awards will be to the first ($2500), second ($1000) and third ($500) place winner of the competition

The on-line registration with poster abstract submission deadline is May 6, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. Online registration for attendees without poster abstract submission is May 11, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.

Information and notification of acceptance for posters, and attendance confirmation will be sent on May 13, 2011. Set-up time is 7:30 a.m. the morning of the event.

Please register to attend the Symposium even if you are not submitting an abstract for poster presentation. There is no fee but pre-registration is required. Register early as seating is limited. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and we will need a count for food as well as poster spaces.
