Students and postdoctoral fellows are strongly encouraged to formulate an individualized professional development plan using the AAAS “My Individual Development Plan” app. Here they create a career plan, and use the plan to envision strengthening of professional skills for their chosen future career path. Faculty assist in discussions on opportunities for strengthening skills, and meet with trainees regularly to update their career planning schedule and career goals.
