The 10th Annual Carlos S. Kase Neurology Research Symposium

On April 30th, 2024 the BU Department of Neurology hosted its Tenth Annual Carlos S. Kase BU Neurology Research Symposium. Dr. Katelyn Bird, Dr. David Greer and Dr Michael Alosco welcomed the guests on behalf of the department. In keeping with tradition, Dr Carlos Kase was also in attendance. This year’s symposium was a celebration of the extraordinary achievements made by our students, residents, fellows, and faculty over the past year. In addition to celebrating a decade of achievements, this symposium serves as a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and the forging of new collaborations.

This year we were honored to welcome our keynote speaker, Natalia S. Rost, MD, MPH, FAAN, FAHA, Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, a distinguished alumna of the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, and a beacon of excellence in the field of neurology. In her presentation “From SiGN to DISCOVERY and Beyond: A Journey in Stroke Research” Dr. Rost spoke about her leadership journey, from BUSM student to AAN president, lessons learned along the way, challenges facing our field and how to overcome them.

All participants at the Symposium had the opportunity to select their favorite poster. The winner of the Audience Award for favorite poster (Museum Art in Neurology Education Training: the MANET project) was Tatiana Greige, MD (PGY4 Neurology resident).

Thank you to all attendees who made this Symposium a success. We look forward to seeing you at our future events!
