2023 Kase Symposium and Alumni Reunion
On April 26th, 2023 the BU Department of Neurology held its Ninth Annual Carlos S. Kase BU Neurology Research Symposium. With the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) annual meeting in Boston, we had the opportunity to have the Kase Symposium coincide with the BUMC Neurology alumni reunion this year. Dr. Katelyn Bird and Dr. David M. Greer welcomed the guests on behalf of the department. We were fortunate to have Dr. Carlos Kase and Dean Karen Antman join us for the evening, making the event truly special.
Over 120 attendees included faculty, residents, fellows, students and alumni. The event included more than 40 posters highlighting achievements in clinical research and quality improvement by our students, residents, fellows, and faculty over the past year. Attendees also voted on the winning research poster. Daniela Benitez, MD, Research assistant, accepted the award on behalf of her team led by Alcy Torres, MD, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology MD, for their research “Soccer-related concussion in children and adults over the past 10 years: a systematic review”.
