June 2025 GSDM Faculty Appointments & Promotions
Congratulations to the following Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine faculty on their recent appointment or promotion.
Clinical Professor

Deeba Kashtwari, BDS, MS, Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, is the inaugural chair of the department of oral & maxillofacial radiology. She also serves as the school’s radiation safety officer and as course director for all four predoctoral radiation courses. Her postdoctoral teaching includes conducting CBCT interpretation workshops for endodontics residents and radiation safety orientation lectures to residents annually. Dr. Kashtwari also has been actively involved in the research activities of pre- and postdoctoral students as well as a Fulbright scholar in the endodontics department. Dr. Kashtwari currently serves as secretary for the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Leadership Institute Alumni Association Board and as a site visitor for the Commission on Dental Accreditation. She a fellow of the International College of Dentists and will be inducted into the American College of Dentists this fall.
Clinical Associate Professor

Charles Henry, DDS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, returns to GSDM from New Hampshire where he was in private practice for 34 years. He received his DDS from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Dr. Henry completed a general practice residency in dentistry at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, followed by a residency in oral & maxillofacial surgery at the Medical Center of Delaware in Wilmington where he also served as chief resident, and a fellowship in oral & maxillofacial surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Among his prior appointments, he was an assistant professor in oral & maxillofacial surgery at GSDM from September 1998-June 1999 before temporarily leaving academic dentistry to focus solely on private practice.
