SPH Public Health Forum: Malaria Elimination – Hype or Hope?

On May 13 join Laurence Slutsker, MD, MPH, at the SPH Public Health Forum as he presents the talk “Malaria Elimination – Hype or Hope?”

Dr. Slutsker is chief of the Malaria Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and clinical assistant professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. He joined the CDC in 1987 and has conducted and supervised epidemiologic research in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Sudan, South Africa, Japan and the United States on a variety of topics including malaria, HIV/AIDS, diarrheal diseases and general tropical public health.

His current work is focused on prevention and treatment of malaria in infants and pregnant women, anti-malarial drug resistance, interactions between HIV and malaria, and evaluations of malaria control programs.

The Public Health Forum is a regular series hosted by the BU School of Public Health.
