The Clinician of the Year Award is given to an individual who has been both a course presenter and a volunteer at YDC for several years.

“This award is really a recognition award for years of volunteer service and I am flattered to receive it,” said Dr. McManama. “I gave my first YDC course in 1988 and have lost track of how many courses I have given since. I have a lot of respect for previous winners including BUGSDM’s own Dr. Dan Nathanson.” Dr. McManama continued, “I feel very strongly that this type of work is really an important part of being a health care professional. Volunteering in some capacity is not only rewarding and fun, it is what we should be doing. I really enjoy working on this meeting and my hope is that students will be inspired to do the same.”

“This is a wonderful accomplishment for Dr. McManama,” said Dean Jeffrey Hutter. “The time he dedicates to the field of dentistry through volunteer work makes him an excellent role model for our students.”
