Sign Up for BUSM-Schneider 4th-Year Electives

The following fourth-year clinical electives are available at Roy Lester Schneider Hospital (St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands) for all blocks of the 2013-14 academic year. Each block accommodates a maximum of 4 students.

  • Cardiology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Infectious Diseases

Procedures to Sign Up:

  1. If you are part of the BUSM class of 2014, and you are interested in undertaking one of these electives for the 2013-14 academic year, e-mail Ana Bediako with two choices of elective blocks and specialties.
  2. If there is an available spot, you will be e-mailed a confirmation. If all spots are taken, you will be put on the waiting list.
  3. If you are granted a spot, the elective will automatically be added to your 4th-year schedule by Ana.
  4. Withdrawing: If you are granted an elective spot, and you withdraw from the elective, you must find a classmate to fill your spot by contacting those on the waiting list. If this does not prove fruitful, then you must
    solicit classmates to find a replacement via the class mailing list.
