Anna Goldman Honored with Boston Climate Leader Award

Anna Goldman, MD and Mayor Michelle Wu

Congratulations to Anna Goldman, MD, a primary care physician in the Section of General Internal Medicine and the Medical Director of Sustainability for Boston Medical Center (BMC), for earning the Boston Climate Leader Award from the City of Boston’s Environment Department. She received the Boston Bright Future Award, recognizing those transforming the energy grid to more renewable sources.

As Medical Director of Sustainability, Dr. Goldman co-founded Clean Power Prescription, a first-in-the-nation pilot that enables BMC providers to write patients a prescription for a reduced utility bill, supporting economic and environmental health. In addition, under her guidance, BMC developed an innovative collaboration with Takeda to reduce hard-to-abate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the healthcare sector. This award recognizes Dr. Goldman’s efforts in pioneering sustainability initiatives in healthcare.
