Program Objectives

Through program participation, students will:

  1. Gain experience in addiction research design, research participant recruitment, data collection, data analysis, literature reviews, and/or data presentation.
  2. Expand their knowledge on various substance use topics, ranging from harm reduction to social determinants of addiction.
  3. Acquire clinical exposure to the screening, diagnosing and treating of patients with unhealthy drug and alcohol use.

Target Audience

PRiT runs in conjunction with the BU Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine’s Medical Student Summer Research Program. While the primary audience comprises of 1st year Boston University medical students, the program also welcomes participation from non-medical students and qualified external students (e.g. graduate, international, other medical).
