I am an international student who moved to the USA from Bangladesh in August 2023 to pursue my PhD studies. I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Following that, I worked as a full-time research assistant at the University of Dhaka. I was awarded the Dean’s award by the University of Dhaka and the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, for my credentials and research work.
In Dr. Mikel Garcia-Marcos’s lab, my project involves the development of tools to assess the activity of heterotrimeric G proteins that are compatible with primary cells and/or animal tissues. The cooperative culture and the PI’s direct involvement in guiding research encouraged me to choose this lab for my PhD.
