- Area of Interest High resolution mass spectrometry and separation sciences for the analysis of glycans and proteins
The area of my research is in the development of analytical methods for glycan sequencing, utilizing high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). For MS/MS electron activated dissociation (ExD) methods are used, such as electronic excitation dissociation (EED) and negative electron transfer dissociation (NETD) that can generate structurally informative tandem mass spectra. ExDs are performed on an Orbitrap and FTICR platforms, both off-line and on-line with HPLC.
