My interest in research started at UMass Amherst, where I completed my honors thesis in biochemistry and molecular biology, studying maize and Caulobacter mutations. After completing my undergraduate studies, I shifted gears towards the biotech industry, especially in the precision genome editing realm. I worked on lipid nanoparticle delivery (LNP) in in vivo systems and nominated multiple candidates for three rare diseases to go into the clinical phase.
I chose to complete my PhD in the Perissi lab here at BUSM in 2024 because I truly believe that the pursue science has no bounds. I want to maximize my tool belt I have built from my past experiences and apply it to a new realm of research, fueled by my passion and curiosity. Currently, I am working on the further characterization of novel mitochondrial enzyme NEURL4 and its associated metabolic pathways.
