4th-Year Elective Block Dates: School of Medicine

Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine divides its fourth (final year) curriculum of electives into 4-week blocks. International students who apply for an elective must choose from the established block dates. Block dates cannot be altered.

Notes on Block Dates

• Blocks begin on Mondays.
• Block end dates are listed below as Sundays, but most electives end on the Friday before that.
• Federal U.S. holidays:  If a federal holiday falls on a Monday, electives may begin on the Tuesday and not the Monday. Elective coordinators will confirm with students with this information.
