Preserving Zoom Recordings

Written Tutorial: Downloading, Backing Up, Uploading and Sharing Zoom Cloud Recordings

Starting March 13th, 2022, Zoom cloud recordings that are at least 180 days old will be automatically deleted, with the exception of those created between January 1 – June 1, 2020. A deleted recording may be recovered from the Zoom website for up to 30 days after it was deleted. 

We encourage everyone to review recordings you currently have saved on Zoom. For any recordings you wish to retain, we have multiple options for you to choose from. More Information on Automatic Cloud Recording Deletion (BU TechWeb) 

Recordings that should remain accessible to others, including instructional content, should be uploaded to BU MyMedia (Kaltura). Please be sure to delete any local copies of recordings after uploading to their final destination to free up valuable hard drive space on your computer.

Looking to simply archive your Zoom recordings? There are several great options for storing recordings downloaded from Zoom. These platforms also have desktop sync apps that make bulk archiving simple:
