Tuberculosis Clinic

There is a very high incidence of tuberculosis in Armenia, and as late as 2000 there was no in-patient unit to care for patients at a hospital. In August of 2000 a TB in-patient clinic was established on the empty fourth floor of another hospital, and physicians, including the new Clinic Director, Dr. Mkrtich Mkrtchyan, traveled to this country for additional training at BUSM. The fourth floor of the hospital was renovated, and in 2000 and 2001 the floor was furnished with equipment sent through the Partnership.
