{"id":193,"date":"2009-07-09T16:05:55","date_gmt":"2009-07-09T20:05:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/sustainability\/?page_id=193"},"modified":"2009-07-09T16:05:55","modified_gmt":"2009-07-09T20:05:55","slug":"transportation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/sustainability\/focus-areas\/transportation\/","title":{"rendered":"Transportation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BUMC is exceptionally lucky to have the talented and dedicated staff of the Transportation Solutions for Commuters (TranSComm) office on board to lead the campus in making our transportation methods sustainable.\u00a0 Here are a few of the major programs they run for our community.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/thebus\">The BUS<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The Boston University Shuttle is an exceptionally popular mass-transit option for students to travel between the BUMC and the Charles-River Campus (CRC).<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/gs\/transcomm\/ride-matching\/\">My Commute<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>An innovative new-media based commuting tool, the My Commute system allows BUMC students, staff, and faculty to sign up for both traditional regularly occurring carpools and also one-off rides when necessary.\u00a0 The TranSComm staff can also track the campus&#8217;s performance, commuting preferences, and average miles traveled through this site.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/gs\/transcomm\/bikemap\/\">Cycling Support<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>TranSComm operates two bike cages (one at either hospital campus) and numerous bike racks throughout the BUMC.\u00a0 Applications for spots in bike cages are located <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/gs\/transcomm\/bikecage\/\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 The BUMC recently won a Silver-level award during the Mayor&#8217;s Boston Bike Week for our community&#8217;s commitment to traveling via bike to work, and for the support services cyclists can access while here.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The BUMC is exceptionally lucky to have the talented and dedicated staff of the Transportation Solutions for Commuters (TranSComm) office on board to lead the campus in making our transportation methods sustainable.\u00a0 Here are a few of the major programs they run for our community.
