Boston Medical Center was one of only 56 institutions (out of 722) recognized for delivering high-quality care in two categories: \u201cAll Cases\u201d and \u201cHigh Risk\u201d cases.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facs.org\/media\/press-releases\/jacs\/mcaneny0602\">Surgeons Report Fewer Postoperative Deep-Vein Blood Clots Using Risk-Based Preventive Measures<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearchers at Boston Medical Center, Boston, Mass., reported that they lowered the frequency of deep venous thromboses\u2014blood clots in a deep vein, usually in a lower extremity\u2014by 84 percent two years after the prevention efforts began, compared with the results two years before the program.
